Itseasiassa inuiittien kielessä on muistaakseni vain viisi varsinaista sanaa lumelle. Muut ovat yhdyssanoja joita inuiittien kielessä voi tehdä melkolailla miten vaan. Toiselta kannalta voidaan ajatella, että inuiittien kielessä on rajattomasti sanoja lumelle.
you are absoutely right. it is a urban legend, that the inuits have so many words for snow. (Peter Hoeg discusses in his ”Smila” book this subject very interestingly). I knew it also before i wrote the ”story” for this strip. But because most people believe in this urban legend, it thought it is a good background for the message of this strip. t. Johan

you are absoutely right. it is a urban legend, that the inuits have so many words for snow. (Peter Hoeg discusses in his ”Smila” book this subject very interestingly).
